普尔特房屋公司（Pulte Homes）创立于1956年,是美国四大房地产:霍顿（D.R. Horton）、桑达克斯（Centex）、莱纳（Lennar）之一。1956年在底特律的布鲁姆菲尔德山初成立时，普尔特房屋公司(Pulte Homes Inc)的主要产品是大型住宅和底特律郊区的一些商业建筑。60年代，历经十年的美国房地产业步入萧条年代，房地产公司的发展受到了威胁。为了将自己与竞争对手区别开，普尔特开始了第一次地域扩张。他们选择住房拥有率低、州政府土地政策与现有地域具有相关性、人种分布相象的地区，华盛顿特区、芝加哥和亚特兰大的市郊拓展业务，二战后普尔特选择在地域上将住宅和客户做了模块化的区分和开发，他们将客户分为首次购房者、房屋置换者、半DIY(自己动手)者和老年购买者，以供应不同形式的住宅。这样做既节省成本，又避免风险。1969年，普尔特由家族企业变成了上市公司。通过发行股票引入外部资金，从而扩张了融资渠道，2001年7月，普尔特做出了一项大胆的举动，收购了建筑商德尔.韦布(Del Webb)，2004年9月普尔特又与美国电信业巨头Verizon公司达成了FTTP配置协议，将普尔特的家庭用户接入到Verizon的捆绑商业业务中，包括FTTH宽带业务。
